Simultaneous Degree Program
The Graduate School and Professional Programs offer all graduate students in all departments the opportunity to work on two graduate degrees simultaneously. For example, graduate students from social work, counseling and education have successfully completed our Master of Science degree program.
Because of the way this opportunity is designed, it is possible to reduce our 30-credit hour course requirement to 21 credits by transferring a maximum of 9 credits from a student's home program.
This program option is only available to students already accepted to and participating in other graduate programs on campus. If a student accepted into the simultaneous degree program decides to resign from his or her "home" program, then he or she may not continue in the simultaneous degree program. Resignation from the "home" program requires simultaneous resignation from our programs.
It is very important to know that this program does not result in students getting professional certification from a state department of education.
