Dear Campus Community:

The Model Secondary School for the Deaf hosts its annual graduation
today. Earlier this week, I had the distinct pleasure of interviewing
three of the graduating seniors and asking them about their lives and
goals for the future. I met with senior class president Rikki DiMaria,
valedictorian Lateefah Patterson, and graduation speaker Ryan
Hastings.

I also got the opportunity to congratulate Lateefah on being selected
to represent MSSD at a two-week learning expedition to South Africa.
Her flight leaves immediately after MSSD's graduation. She won't be
going alone, however. She will be accompanied by fellow graduate
Kelsey Wessman and Earth Systems Sciences teacher Mary Ellsworth, as
well as a science teacher and two students from the Indiana School for
the Deaf.

I was really inspired by the accomplishments of Ryan, Lateefah, and
Rikki. I wish them and all of the other MSSD graduates the very best.

Sincerely,

Robert R. Davila
President
