Dear Campus Community:

On this week’s “Bob’s Vlog” I talked with Dr. Barbara White and Touria Boren, co-directors of the First Year Study Tour. For the first time ever, Gallaudet is offering a free study trip to eligible first-year freshmen and first-year transfer students to Costa Rica during spring break. The trip will give first-year students a global perspective early on in their academic careers at Gallaudet.

Our discussion touched on learning and recreational activities the students will be able to do in Costa Rica; for example--turtle conservation efforts, a soccer game with members of the deaf community, and a canopy ride through the rain forest. This is a great opportunity for our students, and I am confident that the students who participate will have experiences and memories that they will carry with them for years and years.
