SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Brian H. Greenwald joined the Department of History in 1999 as one of two first President's Fellows. Currently, Dr. Greenwald is Associate Professor of History and Coordinator of the Deaf History Certificate program (http://aaweb.gallaudet.edu/Government_and_History/Graduate_Programs.html) and Director of Deaf History-MA track within the Department of Deaf Studies. (http://deafstudies.gallaudet.edu/deafhistory.xml). Dr. Greenwald has been conducting research in Deaf history. He is coeditor of A Fair Chance in the Race of Life: The Role of Gallaudet University in Deaf History and has also published chapters in The Deaf History Reader and Genetics, Disability, and Deafness. He is currently working on a book about the role of Alexander Graham Bell and the American eugenics movement.
