SHORT BIOGRAPHY Donna F. Ryan grew up in Boston, Massachusetts, where she attended Girls' Latin School. She graduated from Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts in 1970, with a degree in history and minor in English literature. She moved to Washington, DC in 1972 and earned both M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in history from Georgetown University. Donna F. Ryan began teaching at Gallaudet University in 1984, where she is Professor of History and Director of the Women's Studies Program. She is the author of The Holocaust and the Jews of Marseilleand coeditor of Deaf People in Hitler's Europe. She lives in Takoma Park, Maryland with her life partner since 1987, Vicki Lynn Ferguson. They share a commitment to social justice work, a desire to maintain the natural beauty of the Delaware coast, where they enjoy a seaside cottage with their dogs, and a love of world travel.
