SHORT BIOGRAPHY Dr. Stock is on sabbatical leave for the Fall 2009 semester. Barbara Stock is an associate professor who has worked at Gallaudet in the Philosophy and Religion department since 2000. She earned her PhD in philosophy from Syracuse University. Her research and teaching interests include medical ethics, animal rights, the early modern period of the history of philosophy, and connections between philosophy and popular culture. An avid science fiction fan, she believes that every important philosophical question can be discussed by reference to Star Trek.
