Dr. Bryan D. Miller received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Stetson University in 1986 and received a Master of Science in Education from Bucknell University in 1989. He recently completed Temple University's NASP-approved and APA-accredited Ph.D. School Psychology Program in December 2000. In addition, he completed Temple University's Supervisory Certification Program in School Psychology and obtained his certification in the state of Pennsylvania as a Supervisor of School Psychological Services in August 1999. In addition to over twelve years of experience as a school psychologist with West Shore School District in Harrisburg, PA, Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13 in Lancaster, PA, and Baltimore County Public Schools in Baltimore, MD, Dr. Miller has had experience as an Acting Supervisor of Special Education with Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13 and as an Instructor at Stetson University. Dr. Miller is currently an Associate Professor of Psychology at Gallaudet University in Washington, DC. His duties include teaching in the Specialist Program in School Psychology, developing a program of research, and providing service to the university and community. His current courses include Collaborative Problem Solving, Consultation, Intelligence Testing Practicum, Cognition and Learning, School Psychology Prevention and Intervention Services, and Social, Behavioral, and Emotional Assessment.

Dr. Miller's twelve plus years of experience in various public school settings included assisting children and families from a community-ecological perspective by providing psychological services to students with a wide variety of educational disabilities, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in early intervention programs, students in emotional and behavioral support programs, and students in life skills and multiple disabilities support programs. He has completed impact evaluations on the effectiveness of alternative education programs, presented workshops on curriculum-based assessment, presented workshops and written articles on the efficacy of grief and loss counseling with alternative education students, and participated in various child and adolescent community service system programs.

Additionally, Dr. Miller has been active in professional psychology associations, with a specific emphasis on public policy and legislative initiatives to support children and families. His research interests are in preventing and decreasing behavioral and emotional problems in deaf and hard of hearing students and in applications of contemporary intellectual assessment and curriculum-based assessment to culturally and linguistically diverse students, including deaf and hard of hearing students.
