Planning & Resource Allocation
In conjunction with the MSCHE accreditation report(s) Gallaudet University developed a strategic plan (2007-2011) to address weaknesses identified by MSCHE. In the fall of 2008 the Board of Trustees, in collaboration with President Davila, engaged Booz Allen Hamilton to assist the university in the development of a Long range Strategic Plan ( LRSP ) that would assist the BOT in the selection of the 10th President. In May, the Board of Trustees unanimously approved a long-range strategic plan (LRSP) intended to carry us from 2010 to 2015. The LRSP flows from the Mission Statement developed in 2007. It is guided by a sense of rededication to Gallaudet's position as the university of choice for the most qualified and diverse group of deaf and hard of hearing students in the world, as well as hearing students pursuing careers related to deaf and hard of hearing people.
The Strategic Plan for 2010 - 2015 ( LRSP ) builds upon the 2007 - 2011 strategic plan developed to address weaknesses identified by MSCHE. The five (5) goal areas are not a major departure from the earlier plan. However, the strategies in the 2010 - 2015 Strategic Plan (LRSP) reflect a new vision for the university. The 2010 - 2015 Strategic Plan adds emphasis, clarity, and focus for how we will achieve the five goal areas. See illustration below for how the earlier Strategic Plan 2007 - 20111 provides the foundation for the newly adopted Strategic Plan LRSP 2010 - 2015.
