Mission Statement
The mission of the Mentoring Program is to provide mentoring services that promote first and second year students' academic excellence and personal growth in their transition to college life and exploration of career options.
Students arrive with different needs and expectations, and the Mentoring Program can create a supportive environment for them to make important, positive decisions. The impact of having a mentor can carry you through your college years and beyond.

- Mentors who help to guide you in making good academic, personal and career decisions.
- Opportunities for you to discuss career and major options, hobbies, special interests with
someone who cares for your well being and success. - Support for you as you make the transition to college life at Gallaudet University.
- A personal guide to Gallaudet services, programs, and enriching activities.
- Help with critical thinking in order to make decisions that affect your academic performance.
- Help with making connections to the University and city.
- Motivation to achieve academic excellence and career success.
