Wanna become part of an e-team of writers for ‘258 News’?

We are looking for deaf/hard of hearing writers with mad-hot writin’ skills and a twisted sense of satirical humor! We--Anne Tomasetti and Alexandria Wailes–news anchors and co-producers of ‘258 News’- will be your visibly creative outlets!

‘258 News’ is inspired greatly in format by the brilliance behind ’Weekend Update’ from Saturday Night Live.

We thrive to share twisted, cheeky, factual, stretched truths and ultimately humorous remarks with our eyes being our ears. Such remarks will include, but are not limited to views about politics, religion, health, the arts, science, and entertainment. Our format will extend to also include whatever Deaf news is taking place on a global scale; within the shining seas of our country; or right here in fast paced and electric NYC.

We would like for deaf writers to, through us, have a forum to share with a worldwide audience. Each episode will be approximately ten minutes long with the latest news, banter and moments.

Write a few snarky newsworthy tidbits, or clever banter for the anchors, or songs, poems or commentary for us or our recurring guest character(s).

Please.. nothing more than a month old because train go.. sorry.

If you have an great picture to go with your news bits or updates, please attach to your submission.

Refrain from any damaging, vicious, harsh or cruel language(s) out to belittle, demoralize or threaten anyone’s livelihood.

In your submission, please provide your source and the name you’d like to appear in the end credits if selected for a particular episode.

The co-producers will give credit where it’s due.

The flexibility of your involvement is up to you–write as much as you can, or as little as you want. This can be for all episodes, a few or just one. Let your hands fire away and do some talking!!!!
