Dear Campus Community:
On this week's Bob's Vlog I had a wonderful conversation with three of the many individuals who work every day to ensure that our students feel respected, valued, and appreciated. They are Thuan Nguyen, coordinator of the Mentoring Program, Elvia Guillermo, coordinator of the Multicultural Student Programs, and Dr. Laurene Simms, faculty advisor to the Black Deaf Student Union and director of the master's degree program in deaf education in the Graduate School.
As you know, diversity is a very important focus of my administration and our work on diversity is ongoing. This work is not the responsibility of just one person or just a few people. On the contrary, the entire community must be committed to diversity. Here at Gallaudet, we are trying very hard to develop and implement a climate of respect, not only for people, but for their ideas and opinions.
Please take a few moments to watch this inspiring vlog. I enjoyed my conversation with them and I'm sure you'll enjoy watching it.
Sincerely,
Robert Davila
President
