Extra-curricular Opportunities and Student Services
Campus Activities
Campus Activities provides oversight to the various student organizations on campus, coordinates room reservations in the Student Union Building, hosts Friday night movies, and operates the SUB Information Desk that provides visitors with campus information and provides students with information about the surrounding Washington, D.C. metropolitian area.
Campus Ministries
Gallaudet University recognizes the importance of a diversity of religious faiths on the overall spiritual development and educational experience of students. The Office of Campus Ministries (OCM), is a volunteer group of staff, including full-time and part-time religious workers, who represent a variety of religious organizations.
Community Service Programs
Students perform community service hours each year as part of their graduation requirements. Student organizations are also required to provide services to keep their standing as recognized organizations. This office coordinates opportunities for students and organizations.
Commuter Lounge and Services
Located in the basement of the Ely Building, the Commuter lounge gives students who live off campus a place to study, relax, stow away belongings in lockers, and use kitchen facilities.
Financial Services/Student Accounts
Information about tuition and fees, payment methods and schedules, meal plans, etc.
Health and Wellness Programs
This office seeks to empower students to make informed health and lifestyle choices in accordance with their own values and belief systems.
Hearing & Speech Center
Students, faculty & staff can take advantage of the many services offered including: hearing aid services, audiological evaluations, and many others.
Housing/Residence Life
The campus has six residence halls with all the comforts of home. Residence Life staff help provide a sense of community through educational programs and a variety of living arrangements.
International Programs and Services
Students from around the world come to Gallaudet University and their diverse language and cultural experiences enriches the fabric of the campus community.
Mental Health Center
The center provides mental health services to students. Through their training programs they also serve deaf and hard of hearing individuals and their families in the Washington, D.C. area.
Multicultural Student Programs
Provides support and services primarily to racial and ethnic minority students and their organizations.
Office of the Ombuds
Students can receive help resolving academic and non-academic problems through this confidential, independent, informal, and impartial conflict management resource.
Student Conduct Office
The board evaluates alleged violations of student standards of conduct and determines appropriate disciplinary actions. The office also provides mediation to resolve student conflicts.
Student Health Services
Provides primary health care to students.
