Professional Education Programs (PEP) at Gallaudet University are accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the dean of GSPP serves as head of the common governance structure known as the PEP Unit. All but two of these programs reside in GSPP: seven undergraduate programs in general education, the M.A. and M.A.T. in Deaf Education, the M.A. in School Counseling and Guidance, the Ed.S. in Change Leadership in Education, and the Ph.D. in Special Education Administration. The two remaining programs are the M.S.W. in School Social Work and the Psy.S. in School Psychology, both housed in CLAST. The PEP Unit has a curriculum review committee (PEP-C) as well as two long-term PEP Planning Committees that support collaboration among PEP faculty and administration, CLAST faculty in the liberal arts, and partners in P-12 school settings. These two committees focus on the critical areas of Diversity and Field Experiences, and Assessment and Technology.
