The following course is offered for both professional studies credit (PST 400) and undergraduate credit (CIS 495)
CIS 495/PST 400, PC Hardware and Operating Systems Training (3 credits)
This course designed to prepare individuals for CompTIA's A+ certification. CompTIA A+ certification validates the latest skills needed by today's computer support professionals. It is an international, vendor-neutral certification recognized by major hardware and software vendors, distributors and resellers. This 3 credit course prepares students to achieve A+ certification by learning the following course content: PC hardware components(processors and chipsets, motherboards, memory, hard drives, 1/0 devices, multimedia devices and mass storage, form factors and power supplies), operating Systems (installing, maintaining, and supporting Windows 2000XP and Windows 9x/Me, computer networking and security, PC and Notebook repair fundamentals, and support printers and scanners. A $100 lab fee is required for this course.
